Mountain Harbor Resort & Spa receives mixed reviews, with some guests praising its beautiful lakefront location, friendly staff, and family-friendly amenities. However, recent reviews highlight significant issues with inconsistent customer service, billing problems, and subpar room conditions. Overall, the experience seems uneven and potentially unreliable.
Mixed reviews for me on this one. The room was fine. Nothing over the top but clean and comfortable. The views are stunning! The service however is sadly lacking. You check in at the lodge so between guests checking in, people being seated at the restaurant and people paying for their meal, let's just say it's a huge cluster. Only one girl at the desk trying to manage all that. You can imagine her mood. The pool was clean and a perfect temperature. The kids loved it! If you don't mind bad service and a place run by stressed out workers then give it a try.
Original Review was deleted stayed week after the 4th. Parents who live nearby had highly recommended this place for the past couple of years, so we decided to give it a try while visiting from North Carolina on active duty military orders. We stayed for two nights, but unfortunately our experience was disappointing from start to finish. The room itself was subpar. Cleanliness wasn’t the best, and it was obvious the room needed maintenance. The door frames were literally falling apart, making the room feel worn down and neglected. The billing system was an absolute nightmare. Random charges appeared throughout our stay, and the front desk called me at least three separate times trying to sort out the bill. I wish I had a time machine to bring back Albert Einstein because the billing was that confusing. The restaurant was another major letdown. Service was extremely slow, and you should be prepared to wait an hour or more for your food to make it to your table. One positive is that they do offer a military discount on some services. However, the policy seemed inconsistent. One employee would tell you the discount applied, while another would say it didn’t, which was frustrating. Overall, this resort and marina did not live up to the recommendations we received. Between the poor room condition, confusing billing, slow restaurant service, and inconsistent customer service, I won’t be returning.
This was my first trip on a luxury house oat and it was absolutely amazing! The Mountain Harbor crew are so kind and friendly! We had a couple issues and they blazed right out in the pouring rain to remedy the situation. Benny is awesome! I absolutely loved it! I'm on a post vacation high all because of the experience on the houseboat!
This resort is extremely beautiful & peaceful. It has everything you need for a stay. Restaurant, laundry room, playground & marina with a store inside. Along with all kinds of lake rentals. Too amenities to list. Best thing to do is look them up on the website. Just to let you know all the staff is friendly & always very helpful when needed. All different lodging is fantastic.
My family and I have been coming to Mountain Harbor on Lake Ouachita for nearly 10 years, and it has become a tradition we look forward to every year. We always stay in Aviation Cabin C25, which has become our favorite place to relax and make family memories. The staff is always friendly and helpful, the property is beautiful, and the service is second to none. Year after year, Mountain Harbor continues to exceed our expectations. If you’re looking for a great family vacation spot, I highly recommend it. We can’t wait to come back again next year.
Loved everything about this place . Resonable rates , big beautiful lake with great fishing and boating , wildlife , lots of ammenities , restaurant on premises with good food . Plan to come back . Lake view out my back window and door with small private patio .
Would have given this a 4-5 stars, but this place is not EV friendly. I did inquire about the Ev charging, but hosts didn’t explain that it was quite a ways away from the living areas nor did they offer to explain that type of charger or that is was .99/kw. Had we have know it was going to be this costly we would have brought an ICE vehicle. Def not worth it to stay in this area as there is zero fast charging available, let alone level 2 charging.
Had a very nice weekend away here. Its very quiet and dog friendly. The cabins are very spacious and have every thing you could need. The Restaurant wasn't the best but pretty good if you didn't bring enough food or don't feel like cooking.
I booked this place for my wife's 40th birthday, girls trip. It was absolutely amazing and perfect location. Beautiful hiking trails, beautiful lake. Their favorite part might have been enjoying the sunrise and sunset from the nice deck. Jennifer (the head chef) even helped us prepare a special, off the menu private dinner for the 6 of them. Which was absolutely delicious and delightful. Each of her friends were impressed with the location and the serenity of the place. I am jealous of my wife's trip and can't wait to go there with her myself.
Can’t say enough nice things about this place. Grounds are wonderful, staff is exceptionally friendly, the cabin was outstanding, the restaurant was great. And the lake is spectacular, rent a boat if you get the chance! Family owned and they live on site, we were fortunate enough to cross paths and talked over some morning coffee. Wonderful people and very welcoming.
