The Homewood Suites property presents mixed experiences, with recent reviews highlighting significant concerns regarding dated facilities, pool issues, and questionable billing practices. While some guests appreciate its location and certain amenities, cleanliness and overall maintenance are major weaknesses, leading to negative impressions for many.
Thr rooms are dated and the bedding was old. You can tell that the rooms have not had an upgrade since the late 90's. I was scared to sit on the old couch. We could not swim becuase the pool was a nasty dark green. They tried to shock oit but even the extreme amount of chemicals could not do the job. The staff was not friendly and made me feel like a burden for having them do their job. Also I had to wait at the front door for nearly 5 minutes to be let into the hotel.
Called to book a room for a concert. Dropped the call before the details were completed. The man I was talking with had a thick accent. We both had a hard time understanding each other. When I called back they said they had no rooms available. What I did not know is they had one booked under a name very similar to mine and they also had my email wrong. So I never received a confirmation of any kind. But guess what they had right? Yep my bank information. They took $218.53 out of my bank without contacting me. It was an account I don’t use much so I did not notice until too much time had passed. Side note I stayed in the Hilton minutes away and paid $470.52 just to have Hilton steal another $218.53 from me. I will not be using any Hilton in the Little Rock area ever again.
The hotel itself is nice, but it was disappointing to find that the pools were closed without any prior notice. The website also advertises TVs with streaming apps, but the rooms only had cable. We were told the TVs won't be updated for another 3–4 weeks, so it's confusing that this is already being advertised. I also want to say that the front door was sticky and very hard to get open, as well as the bathroom door. The light bulbs in the kitchen area also flickered. On a positive note, the male receptionist was very friendly, helpful, and generous, which made our experience a bit better.
We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights 15-17May. First day was great had excellent customer service. Would like to thank Yolanda for her excellent service and respect towards us and other guest. The check out day was terrible. The lady that was at the front desk seemed to have a bad attitude didn’t speak. Once we received our invoice we noticed we were charged a pet fee. We weren’t charged this fee on our first day but charged on our second day. Told her I am a 100% disabled veteran and my dog was a service dog for emotional support for PTSD. She told me an emotional support dog didn’t meet the standards for a service dog. I serviced over 25 years in the military and my husband over 20 years. We were very disappointed in her attitude and disregard to assist us with the billing issue. We informed her we extended our stay since our father was not discharged from Baptist hospital as scheduled so we were under the impression our paperwork would also carry over from the first day. As long time and loyal Hilton honor members, we are disappointed in the lack of professionalism and customer service we received up on our check out process on 17May. We could have choose a closer hotel to the hospital but choose to stay at this location because of the excellent customer service we received on our first day. Seems that was a bad idea.
This hotel is conveniently located to the downtown Riverwalk. It is less than a mile away from a lot of the downtown activities. It is quiet in the area. The hotel is pet friendly, comes with breakfast in the a.m. a.m. 6:00 until 9:00, has a basketball court, a pool, and grills available for use.
Hotel smells old.. Not that bad but noticeable. Complementary water not offered without asking. There is no Hot water... It's just warm. It does have everything that an extended stay should have thou, dishwasher, stove, fridge+freezer, etc.
I don’t usually write hotel reviews, but this stay was bad enough that I feel like I need to warn others. This hotel is very outdated and not well maintained at all, to put it kindly. From the moment we walked in, things just felt off. The room looked worn down, and there were stains in multiple places—including both mattresses, which was honestly shocking and unacceptable. The carpets and furniture also looked dirty, like they hadn’t been properly cleaned in a long time. There was a noticeable musty smell, and everything just felt kind of grimy. I’ve stayed at a lot of Hilton properties, and this one didn’t come close to the usual standard, it's more along the lines of a Best Value Inn. The location didn’t help either. The parking garage situation felt unsafe, especially being right across from a transit station. There were people hanging around at all hours, and I didn’t feel comfortable leaving my car there or walking around at night. I later saw other reviews mentioning the same concerns, and I completely agree. To make things worse, the overall condition of the hotel seems to be a recurring issue based on other reviews—dirty rooms, outdated interiors, and lack of proper upkeep. That definitely matched our experience. We ended up leaving and going to another Hilton (Spark) the same night because we just didn’t feel comfortable staying there. Honestly, this place needs a serious renovation and better attention to cleanliness and security. Until then, I would strongly recommend staying somewhere else. Look at the pictures posted by other reviewers for the true story. Unfortunately I did not stay long enough to document with photos.
Overall good stay! Rooms are slightly dated with a barely working ceiling fan, humid rooms and kind of blown out couches. Though with that said, the room was clean, staff was kind/helpful, and breakfast was hot. The location was great, and parking was easy.
Great location for my meetings a couple of blocks away. Security is good with key access to the parking garage, lobby, elevators, and room. The only issue I had was my digital key didn't want to work the gate between the courtyard and the parking garage, but it was a short walk to the front door. The room was clean and adequate; good space and in room amenities.
