Arsenic and Old Lace Bed & Breakfast Inn offers a quiet and charming stay in Eureka Springs, consistently praised for its lovely rooms, delicious breakfasts, and welcoming hosts, Brett and Liz. While some guests noted a relaxed, less traditional B&B atmosphere, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive, particularly for those seeking a comfortable and memorable stay in the Ozark Mountains.
Excellent place. Wonderful experience. Food is amazing. The hosts are just wonderful people. Great view of private courtyard from our balcony. The best part of our trip was the stay at Aersnic and Old Lace.
If you are looking for a quiet super nice stay in the Ozark Mountains at Eureka Springs, this is it. We've been going to ES for over 40 years and there are only two B&B's I would highly recommend, this is one of them. It is tucked back in the mountains with fresh mountain air and plenty of mature trees to provide shade. The walk to downtown is a pleasant opportunity to experience the historic loop neighborhood up close. The new owners work tirelessly to make sure their guest have everything they want or need with so many considerate perks. There are always cold drinks in the dining mini fridge along with fresh baked cookies and bananas for snacks. A pitcher of cold water awaits you in your room when you arrive (especially welcome in the summer heat). Our room was clean and tastefully decorated. The house is beautiful with stained glass throughout.
We had a lovely stay overall! The rooms were beautiful, clean, and comfortable, the breakfast was great, and our host was genuinely very kind and welcoming. That said, as a first-time bed and breakfast guest, I may have watched one too many movies and expected to be greeted by a charming older couple with tea, scones, and maybe a little Victorian flair. Instead, we were welcomed by a very nice man in shorts, a T-shirt, and bare feet, looking like he may have just rolled out of bed. He was incredibly friendly, but I’ll admit it did make the experience feel a little more like staying at a family member’s house than checking into a quaint B&B. That feeling continued a bit with the shared kitchen area, where dishes were piled up after breakfast. I completely understand breakfast cleanup takes time, but since it was a shared guest space, it added to the “staying with relatives” feeling. A prep kitchen or a quick cleanup after breakfast would really help keep the guest areas feeling polished. He also served breakfast barefoot the first morning, which gave us a good laugh and definitely made the stay memorable. When more people checked in, he did serve food with shoes on the following days, lol. A simple “Arsenic and Old Lace” embroidered polo, shorts, and shoes would have gone a long way in matching the charm of the property itself. All in all, the service was wonderful, the host was kind, (didn’t see Liz at all) the room was spotless, and breakfast was delicious. Just maybe bring your sense of humor — and don’t expect tea and scones at the door!
Unfortunately, I did not have the pleasure of staying here. However, Liz was so helpful and kind to me when my Tesla rental literally died in one of her charging spots. We needed her husbands help and he was briefly out running errands, and while we waited she offered me and my husband access to her beautiful wrap around porch for more comfort and anything else we needed on top of taking care of a newborn baby! While others may have considered us a bother, she showed us true empathy and kindness, and willingness to help a stranger. Thank you again, Liz! I plan to make this my next stay next time I pass through. ?
We loved everything about Arsenic and Old Lace. Brett and Liz are a wonderful couple. We felt so welcomed. The Treetop room was spotless and well appointed, and very comfortable. It's quiet, plenty of parking, and an easy location to catch the trolly. And the breakfasts - oh wow. Brett definitely spoiled us! We will definitely try to go back.
We had our wedding at the Arsenic and Old Lace and it was perfect. Great breakfast, rooms, location and restaurant recommendations. It will always be a special place for us with great memories of our wedding day. Thank you Brett and Liz.
Wonderful Hosts Brett and Liz, ( just had a baby girl) very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was savory and sweet and filling. Quiet and romantic rooms. Restful experience. Cookies and chocolates upon arrival! What a treat!
We've been staying at Arsenic and Old Lace Bed & Breakfast Inn since February 2011. We went again this Valentines Day weekend. As usual, it was a wonderful experience. The Breakfast each morning was divine. We shall return!
