The Basin Park Hotel offers a unique, historic experience in Eureka Springs with a focus on charm and local attractions. Recent reviews highlight both positive aspects like friendly staff and a convenient location, as well as significant maintenance concerns and outdated facilities. While offering some appealing amenities and a walkable location, the hotel’s aging infrastructure presents challenges for guests seeking a modern, well-maintained stay.
We were lucky enough to get a corner room.So we got to see the main street out of our windows!! The room is so beautiful, and what's nice?Is it's right next to the?Massage room, so it always smells like clean, essential oils! Since I was so close might as well get a massage! It was wonderful, my therapist was very thorough, and then my husband and I did the couples bath together. It was so relaxing! While you're there, you have to do the hidden underground bar. They open up the small hole in the floor and you gotta go down this metal ladder into a cavern!! It's a small speak easy z and you get to taste different wines and listen to the guy sing.It was amazing! We loved this hotel. We will definitely stay again next time.We come!!
My husband & I recently stayed at the Basin Park Hotel for 4 nights. It is an old, historic hotel and I can certainly see how it could be beautiful -- and probably was in its heyday. However, in its current state, it could use a significant amount of love (and most likely money) to bring it up to par. The good: The staff is generally kind & friendly -- we had a lovely wine tasting with one of the employees. The massage I had at the spa was genuinely one of the best I have ever had. I would love to take the massage therapist home with me! I took a wellness class one morning which was peaceful and relaxing; again -- staff that instructed it was great. The not-so-good: Rooms and overall interior of hotel (including spa) need attention and upgrades. Carpeting is in rough shape -- staining, dingy, etc. A/C in room was not great (though I will say, we had extreme heat while we were visiting Eureka Springs). The bathroom needs a complete overhaul. Our room had a large shower, but there was quite a bit of mold and grouting issues. Furniture was not sufficient to store belongings. One of the most surprising issues -- no curtains on the windows. I feel like black out curtains should be the norm in a hotel, but there were only mini blinds on the windows. The hotel also allows smoking outside everywhere -- on the balconies, decks, and even on the "spa deck" (!) The paint job in the entire hotel looks like it was done using a child or perhaps someone who has never painted in their life? It pained me to see such beautiful woodwork covered in the most drab, dark colors with no care given to the paint job itself. My husband and I paid for a couples CBD bath with mineral water in the spa which is not recommended. The bath tub used is entirely too small for 2 people to fit comfortably and again -- this space needs a complete overhaul to feel clean and welcoming. Location is good with extreme walkability around town -- parking is kind of a pain, but the shuttle van/car does come quickly. Finally, the issue that I'm not sure how can be remedied -- the hotel is extremely loud. I understand it is an old building, but you can hear everything above you and around you. We had one night where it sounded like furniture was being moved around at 1:30 am, another night it was 4 am. The same morning as the 4 am wake-up, our room neighbor turned on their TV at 7 am and we could hear it like it was in our room.
Amazing stay! First time in Eureka Springs. Alex was working the lobby both nights of out stay, and hands down gave the best service! So attentive and answered all silly question we had. Will be staying again. If you book the sunroom, I would suggest ear plugs if your a light sleeper.
We had a really enjoyable experience at the Basin Park Hotel Restaurant. If you're already staying at the hotel, it's a cute little walk up to the restaurant and definitely adds to the historic charm of Eureka Springs. Sitting on the balcony was one of the best parts. The view overlooking the trees and hills is beautiful and makes for a relaxing place to eat. The service was okay.. not bad, but nothing that really stood out. The food, however, came out hot and fresh. The burger was huge, well-seasoned, and definitely the better choice. The jumbo chicken strips were just your standard chicken strips. They were a little on the dry side and nothing particularly memorable. One thing to be aware of is that they automatically add an 18% gratuity, even for parties of two. That caught us by surprise, so it's worth checking your bill. Also, smoking is allowed on the outdoor balcony. It wasn't a huge issue, but if you're a nonsmoker trying to enjoy your meal outside, it can be a little inconvenient depending on who's sitting nearby. Overall, I think the prices are fair for the location and experience. We paid about $54 for a large burger and fries with a water, plus the jumbo chicken strips with a lemonade. Between the historic atmosphere, balcony views, and fresh food, I'd eat here again, I'd just order the burger next time. ?
No better home base to explore Eureka Springs, easy walk all over town, shuttles for when you don't feel like walking, great staff and wonderful amenities. Will definitely stay again. The room was great, the only minor issue was the fancy toilet was a little high for my short legs. I suppose that could be as much my parent's fault as the hotel's
My room was pretty disappointing. We stayed in the double king parlor suite. Overall, the room was poorly maintained and lacked the details of a 3 star hotel. The shower had a lot of mold in the caulked areas. When the temp of the shower was turned to the highest heat setting it barely got warm. There's no towel rack in the bathroom for a hand towel, yet there are holes all over with anchors sticking out of the wall. The fan over our bed had a strong wobble so we didn't use it while in bed. Our last evening there, it sounded like someone was moving furniture above us until 3 AM. The bed was comfortable but the rest of the place just seemed dirty and unkept. Furniture was heavily used and even had some stains. The seating area in the extra room was not comfortable and lacked even a side table to put a drink on. The staff was friendly.
Stayed in the “Sun Room” at Basin Park Hotel in Eureka Springs and unfortunately it was a major disappointment—especially for the price. We paid around $1,000 for two nights, and the room quality didn’t come close to matching that. There were several maintenance and safety concerns. Multiple outlets were visibly burned, and there were extension cords and power strips dragged across the floor to power things, which felt unsafe and unprofessional. The furniture was stained, the door hardware was incomplete (missing knob/plate), and parts of the floor were buckled with gaps near the shower area. The sink drained so slowly it took about 15 minutes to clear. The air conditioning units looked extremely old and worn, which didn’t inspire much confidence. One of the biggest frustrations was the lack of proper window coverings—there are no blackout shades, and the room stays bright all night due to outside lighting. That’s something that absolutely should be disclosed ahead of time. To be fair, the bed was comfortable, and the sitting area had a cool, unique vibe. But those positives don’t outweigh the overall condition/cost of the room. If this had been a $200 per night stay, I probably wouldn’t be writing this review. At $1,000, it’s simply not acceptable. This room needs significant updates and better attention to maintenance before being offered at this price point.
This is one of those places that I want to love, that is full of promise and potential, but time has taken its toll. This place must have been glorious 80 years ago, but today is a notch better than shabby. The staff was warm, friendly and professional. I feel cool just lounging in the lobby. The location is absolutely fantastic. Super clean bed in a worn down room. The parking garage is a dump. The water pressure is incredible, but the shower head was mounted absurdly low. The encouraging news is that they are renovating half the building. I cant wait to come back when its done, but not any sooner.
A beautiful and unique vintage place with some great amenities! The bar is awesome. The wine tasting and peculiarities historical tour were awesome. The shuttle service was a great perk! Being able to use all the games and pool at the Crescent was fantastic. LOVE this place. Yes, the floors are squeaky and the shower water pressure is severely lacking. But the AC works great, the beds are nice and firm, very comfortable!
